For Miss thi Be, the girl you have already start to support, the result of the first surgery is a complete success. I have seen her last week for a follow-up consultation and everything was good. It's amazing, she has start to speak simple words ( before , she couldn't speak at all) and , the mother told me, she has even start to sing !!!! I was very happy for the child and the mother as well. The next surgery will be very difficult but I believe it'll work. I will send you pictures as usual.

Dear Manuel,
to keep U advise, the girl has just left the hospital today.
Everything was fine and I think , the surgery was a success. I've done everything who was planned. The velum ( soft palate) and the palate have been closed and until this morning, the results were good. I think it'll stay like this. The risk can be a hole who can appears between the 2 kind of palate. Even this appears, I can fix it in the future when I'll do the next stage. I've schedule to see her again in 3 weeks to check if there is nothing wrong. Between this time, the family ( I've seen for the first time the mother???I haven't seen her before and someone at the orphanage had told me she had dissappeared when the girl was born. So, if she is here again, it's an excellent news for the girl and the father too. U've built a family again and that's amazing. Thanks a lot) has had all the information to take care of her.So, I hope it'll help this girl to learn properly the vietnamese language, to eat and drink normally.
The next surgery will be to close the lips and the anterior part of the nose. Plus, to reconstruct her eyelids if I have enough time. The surgery of the lips and the nose will take me around 3-4 hours. So, if I can carry on and if the anaesthesiologists do not stop me, I'll make new eyelids for her. Otherwise, it'll be necessary to do a next procedure ?
Of course, she will need 2 more surgeries ( bone graft) when she will be around 5-6 years old ( now, she's 2) plus a retouche (lips and nose) when she will be around 15-16 years old. I can be sure I'll be still here to do it? but I'll carry on to take care of her whatever I'll be.
I'll see 2 more children with cleft palate tomorrow afternoon, who come from the same orphanage, and I'll send U pictures. U'll be able to decided which one U can help ? ( or perhaps the 2 ? )
