Michelle Cook
Soprano
Michelle Marie Cook commenced vocal training in 1999.
Since then, Michelle has completed the Graduate Diploma in
Opera at the Victorian College of the Arts and has won and
been a finalist in several local and international
competitions.
Michelle has sung many concerts and recitals including the
Mahler 2nd Symphony with the VCA, and roles including Miḿ
in La Boheme and Giorgetta in Il Tabarro (Puccini) for MCO,
Anne Trulove in The Rake’s Progress (Stravinsky) with
OzOpera and VCA.
In 2004 Michelle sung the role of Madama Cortese in Il
Viaggio a Reims (Rossini) in the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino,
Florence, Italy, and has sung performances in the Teatro del
Liceu in Barcelona, Spain in 2005. Recently, she sung two
roles in the 51º Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago, Italy.
Critics have said that, “She possesses a lovely rich
tessitura and her vocal control is so complete it allows
impeccable phrasing.... Her soprano reminds me of the
