Nadia Tcherkassova
Soprano
Nadia was born in Moscow and holds a Master Degree (Honours)
in Opera and Operetta from the renowned Moscow Theatre
Academy. From 1985 to 1995 she played leading roles in the
operattas “Die Fledermaus” by J.Strauss, “La Violette de
Montmartre”, “The princess of the Circus”, “The Queen of
Czardas”, “The Countess Maritza” by I.Kalman, “Merry Widow”
by F.Lehar, “My fair Lady” by A.Low and others in Moscow
Operetta Theatre. The young actress was a tremendous
success. Audiences loved her wonderful singing, vivid
expressionism, artistic talent, charming voice and beauty.
For many years she hosted her own show on Russian TV
“Operetta Welcomes You”.
Since 1995 Nadia has been living and working in Melbourne.
Every year she gives numerous concerts and recitals in
different venues in Melbourne and country Victoria : Hamer
Hall ( Vic. Arts Centre), Melba Hall (Parkville), Iwaki
Auditorium (Southbank), Kingston Arts Centre (Moorabbin),
Caulfield Town Hall, National Theatre (St. Kilda), Ballarat
Academy of Performing Arts among others.
In 2005 Nadia recorded a CD “The World of Operetta”.
